Episode 3 - Chapter 8: Clan War
As the Clans of Visitors grow in power, so does the urge to prove themselves and test each other. However, inter-clan conflict with losses on all sides only seeks to diminish Arua's power, so the true power of each Clans remains untested.
Until now.
The Dragons and Pedion
Pedion is a land that once was ruled by the Dragons of myth. It was once considered lost, but with advances in Flying Vessel technology, the Visitors can now reach it. Coupled by the Junon Holy Order's portal magics, the land of Dragons is once again accessible.
Entering Pedion and issuing a challenge
Regina is the vanguard in charge of the arena. Clan Masters must talk to her to schedule a Dragon Hunt. Participation is first come, first served. When a clan issues a challenge, the next clan to register under the same category will automatically be their opponent.
There are three categories - the strength of the dragons and the amount of the wager is larger in the higher categories.
- 500,000 zulie
- 1,000,000 zulie
- 10,000,000 zulie
The Clan master pays the appropriate amount and awaits a challenger. Once a challenger has registered, both clan masters will receive a confirmation notice. Note: If a clan master is not online, or cancels the confirmation notice, she will NOT get her wager back.
Once the Clan Master confirms his participation, all clan members will be transported into Peidon.
Combat in the Arena
All settings are the same as PvP, with the exception that all non-clan members are treated as hostile (and clan members are friendly, regardless of party). The dragon you have to defend (as well as monsters on your side of the arena) are likewise friendly and can be buffed and healed as a summoned monster. Skills that affect party members still affect only party members, of course.
There are four spawn points in the arena; those are each of the four corners of the map. A player will respawn at the spawn point nearest to the spot where he was defeated. (If a player is disconnected or logs out inside the arena, she will respawn outside)
Both clans have 18 minutes to defeat the opposing dragon. If both dragons are still alive at the end of the time period, the battle will end in a draw. After a battle ends, there will be a two minute cooldown period before players are transported back to Junon. Note: Players will revert to non-PvP status during the cooldown period, but monsters still retain their aggressive vs other Clan status. It is advised that players run away from a surviving dragon.
Victory is achieved by defeating the opposing Clan's Dragon. The Clan Master of the winning Clan will receive a Quest item that must be brought to Regina to claim the spoils of war. Note: if the Clan Master is disconnected for any reason whatsoever during the course of the battle, the Clan will NOT receive the quest item and thus will be unable to claim the prize regardless of victory or defeat.
The Spoils of War
After both clans have been transported back to Junon, the victorious Clan Master can talk to Regina to claim their victory reward.
The rewards include the following items:
1. The combined zulie cost of the wager, less 10%. Thus, the victor of a 500,000 zulie challenge will earn 900,000 zulies and the victor of a 10,000,000 zulie challenge would earn 18,000,000 zulies.
2. An amount of Otherworldly Metal (Wolf Steel, Molive, Demon Metal, Mythril) dependent on the level of the challenge.
3. An amount of Chemical Essence (Essence, Low Ether, Ether, High Ether, Hime) dependent on the level of the challenge.
These items will be given to the Clan Master once the prize is claimed.
In the event of a tie, both Clan Masters will receive their wagers back, less 30%. This means that a tied 500,000 zulie challenge will return 350,000 zulies and a tied 10,000,000 zulie challenge will return 7,000,000 zulies.
