Explanation and Tips for the Level 30 Hawker Quest

Introduction:
This is a guide to help out fellow hawkers in completing the level 30+ hawker quest. I am writing this because it wasted an hour of my time in trying to complete this quest 3 times.

Info:
Basically, to activate and complete the quest, you first talk to Carrion in Zant. He will tell you that you have to kill 10 aqua captains in 10 minutes. Now, if you FAIL this,which you will most likely do, you get to try again and this time you get 15 minutes. If you fail again, you get 30 minutes. That is your last chance.
To complete this as quickly as possible, use a teleport scroll to Junon. Then, travel to the lake in the middle of Lake Anima to kill aqua captains. This is because there are less people in this area because the Lake in the Elveroon Desert is usually filled with people, making it hard to get the first hit on the aqua captain.
Now after you are done killing 10 aqua captains (check in Quest Window to make sure). You have to use a Zant teleport scroll and run to Carrion quick. After talking to him and completing the quest successfully, he will give you a choice of either giving you a White Wing Bow or a "Lake Hand Bow", both with some sort of bonus. "Lake Hand Bow" appeared for me when I finished the quest weeks ago. I am not sure if this is still the case since some translating patches were released since then. If "Lake Hand Bow" still appears, it is really a Rake Hand Katar.
If you complete the quest in 10 minutes I had heard you only get 20 mana potions as a bonus or something of that sort.

Tips:
1. Do not rest by sitting down. Prepare lots of mana/health refills for quick killing using damaging skills.
2. Don't bother with the 10 minutes quest as it is very hard to complete unless you are on at off-peak times with minimal amount of people on to be able to get the first hit on the aqua captains.
3. To my understanding, you only need to get the first hit and do some damage to aqua captains. What this means is that if you have friends, you can get the first hit on the aqua captain, keep hitting, but get your friends to help finish him off faster. |
