Guide to Building a champion
Welcome to my first guide. If this goes well, i'll be making more guides as I experiment with other characters. This guide as the title says will be explaining about a Champion. Champion is the evolution of a Soldier, They specialize in 2-handed weapons like Spears, 2-Handed Swords and Axes. Champions on their own are powerful fighters. Bring in a muse to heal you while you slaughter countless monster, and you will be gaining level after level. On

~*SKILLS*~
Skills as a Soldier
Weapon Mastery:
This skill is a must! This skill when maxed to Level 10 as a soldier will give you a +45 in attack power with 2-handed Weapons.
Rating: Required
Mental Mastery:
This skill raises your MP. At lvl 10, this skill increases your MP by 300. Thats a lot of MP. This skill is required to learn Divine Force, Blood Attack and Spin Attack. Since Blood attack is a required skill, Mental Mastery is a must.
Rating: Required
Harden Body:
This skill is the HP version of Mental Mastery. At Level 10, this skills increases your Hp by 300. Who doesn't want to have more HP?
Rating: Worth Getting
Armor Mastery:
This mastery gives you a defense bonus. At Level 10, it raises your defense by 43. That is a lot of Defense! Although not required, having that extra defense to lessen the damage you take from those high level monster will
do you wonders!

Quick Step:
Quick Step allows you to run faster. At lvl 5, you will get a 76 boost in Movement Speed (M-Speed). Running faster from one point to another is a plus. Getting it is up to you.

Heavy Attack:
This skill gives you a slight boost an atk to dmage the enemy. Each level you raise it, you get a 7 attack boost. Really Cheap MP cost and a considerably fast reload time. Worth a thought

Double Attack:
Like the name says, you attack the enemy twice to damage it. Each level you raise it, you gain 5 attack points for the skill. Cost a little more MP than Heavy Attack and a little longer reload time. Not really necessary.

Leap Slash:
Leap Slash I think is one of the must have skills for soldiers. Instead of taking MP, it takes a small chunk of your HP instead. A decent Reload time and the ability to stun the monster is a plus.

Berserk Level 1 - 10:
Berserk is a double edge sword. It raises your attack power by dropping your defense. Each level you raise it, it gets a 3 attack up and 1 defense down. The slight drop of defense for an attack boost is pretty good considering Champs have so much HP to begin with. A little defesnse drop won't kill you.

Blood Attack Level 1 - 5:
Another must have skills! This skill will counter the HP you lost from using Leap Slash. At Level 1, it drains 120 HP from the monster IF it hits. Every level it gains, it raises the attack power by 10 and gives you 20 more HP.

Divine Force:
The only ranged attack for soldiers. It has a chance of dropping the targets Magic Defense for 15 seconds. Also is the fastest reload skill that you can learn from the Mental Mastery line. You can use Divine Force 2 times the same time it takes to reload Blood Attack.

Spin Attack Level 1 - 5:
Spin attack is a total attack that attacks an area. For soldier it has a range of 7M. This skill for me, is a must have but should never Level it. Leave it at level 1 and go to Forest of Wisdom once you get it to get a lot of levels.

Skills as a Champ
2-Hand Mastery:
Must have skill for champs! Raises the attack power of your 2-Handed weapons even more. Should be one of the first skill you max as a Champ
Rating: Required
Space Attack:
This is the 2nd ranged shot for Champs. Its weaker than Divine Force since you have to be a Champ to get it, and you must have Heavy Attack Level 10 to get it. If you bothered to learn Heavy Attack, you might as well get this too
Rating: Optional
Champion Hit:
Champion is a stronger version of Leap Slash except one BIG difference!!! It lost the ability to stun the enemy!! The ability to stun monster was one of the best reason to get Leap Slash. Champion Hit isn't really worth it unless you want a stronger attack. Waste of SP!!!

Berserk Level 11 - 20:
Read Berserk for soldiers.

Quick Step Level 6 - 10:
Read Quick Step for soldiers
Rating: Optional
Blood Attack Level 6 - 10:
Same as Blood Attack for soldiers except you gain 30 HP more each level instead of 20 now and it gains 15 attack up.
Rating: Required
Twist Attack:
Its the evolve form of Spin Attack. Since you shouldn't level Spin Attack, you will not be learning this skills. Gains a 2M distance and 15 attack power up instead of 10.
Rating: Don't Bother
~*STATS*~
Alright. Now that we are done with the Skills, on to the stats distribution. There should be only 2 stats you should add. That would be Str (no duh) and Con. Str obviously is the foundation of any good soldier. Gives you you attack power, your defense and your HP. Con is used to Hit the monster. Think of it as accurancy up. The way u should add to ur stats is as followed:
For every 5 Str, add 1 con.
You do not need as much Con because in the future, you'll be buying the Hit Ring (+13 Hit Rate) and when you get the money, CrackShot Ring (+21 Hit Rate). Also a lot of your Hit Rate will be coming from you weapon. You can add a little more Con if you plan on going to PvP. In that case, by the time you reach level 50, you should have at least 50 - 75 Con. I do not PvP a lot, but when I do, I still have a decent Hit Rate even though my Con is only at 35. Just make sure when you buy your weapon with a high Hit Rate.
Where to train
This is only an example of where to train. If this is your first time playing R.O.S.E, I wouldn't recommend
using this part. This is for more advance players.

City of Zant (Cook Woopy and Needle Hornets)

Elveroon Desert (Aua Kings)
Lvl 26 - 45
Forest of Wisdom (REQUIRES SPIN ATTACK. ONLY FIGHT GUARDIAN TREES TILL LEVEL 40. Then Smallee and Elder Smallees)
Lvl 46 - 50
Forest of Wisdoms (Clowns)
Lvl 50 - 55
Beach of Genzi (Doonga Only)
Lvl 56 - 60
Beach of Genzi (Crawfi Warriors and Caiman Archers)
Lvl 60 - 65
Gorge of Silent (Doonga Origin and Doonga Leaders)
Lvl 66 - 70
Gorge of Silent (Stone Goloom and Doogna Captains)

Get your 2nd Job and do whatever you want.
Weapons at levels
Lvl 1 - 22
Bamboo Stick(2) with Stats which you can get from Jelly Nuts or Choropy Birth Island). At Lvl 12 you may get fight Formic Soldiers to get a Javelin with Stats.
Lvl 22 - 32
Round Spear with stats which you can get from Beetle Bugs.
Lvl 32 - 40
Crescent Spear with Stats which you can get by killing Aqua Captains or Aua Kings.
Lvl 41 - 51
Golden Cutter Edge with Stats and Slotted with a Jewel if you can. You can find Golden Cutter Edge in Forest of Wisdom killing Grunter Kings, Guardian Trees or Clowns.
Lvl 51 - 57
Grand Iron Spear with Stats and jewel. You can get a Grand Iron Spear in Cave B1 by killing Goblin Jars or Blood Bats.
Lvl 58 - 70
Get a Legend Orc Axe with Either a Peridot +15 or Diamond + 20. Get the Legend Orc Axe by killing Grunter Kings.
Jewels
There should only be 3 jewels that you might considered purchasing as you progress. Start off w/ a Diamond to gain a slight Attack Boost. When you have the money, change the Diamonds to Rubies. The 3rd Jewel is Sapphire. It raises Con but I don't think you would want this unless you don't wanna pump CON. Champs have 4 Slotted Equips. Weapon and the 3 accessories. |
