This is my first time making a guide so probably not really good
Why make a crossbow soldier?
with all the duping, an extra 35dex makes a great difference especially when you want to lvl quickly in the beginning.
Popularity
crossbow chars are very rare mostly because good crossbows are hard to find and there are pratically no guides on how to make one. i made a crossbow soldier because i was bored of making hawkers and want to make something different. another reason people don't like crossbows is because you can't use a crossbow till lvl 40 so till then you would fairly weak
Stats
stats are fairly simple since crossbow use str to use and dex for damage i found that 1.1.1 str/dex/con will allow you to use the crossbow exactly when you meet the lvl requirement. unlike hawkers, soldier doesn't have any stats that can increase it's hit so you should have a fairly high con
skills
skills that you should have for a crossbow soldier are
1) physical training (increase hp and preequisite for other skills)
2) berserk (this is your advantage, since you're ranged and have dodge low def should be no problem)
3) defense training (makes up for berserk)
4) endure (increase def mainly use for boss type monsters)
5) magic def up (optional skill used for pvp vs muses also a buff skill
6) quick step (optional skill i like it because i hate being slow and it has a fairly low sp consumption
7) crossbow mastery (duh! no need to explain)
8) heavy crossbow shot (the only good skill attack till knight class)
i maxed out all these skills at lvl 51 so save the rest of the sp for range shot and crossbow mastery at lvl 70
equips
accessory (2 garnet 1 peridot or 1 garnet 2 peridot)
slot shield with g7
crossbows lvl 40+ (lvl 40-61) use normal sloted crossbows with garnet
(lvl 61+) use blue slotted crossbows they are great
grand quick bow gun +5 atk spd
armor/mask/shoe/glove/back item: use 7/7 x/15 if u can find any
crossbow soldiers are really buff vs monsters i can solo master stone golem at lvl 50 with berserk and endure 250+ def and dodge
