NARose Critical Soldier
Soldier build towards Champ potentially
Author: nullzero Class: soldier Job: champ Type: general Difficulty: intermediate
Average rating: 7.4/10 Total Votes: 14
As all general guides, Your character needs a name.
Choose a name that will strike fear in the hearts of your enemies. But you also have to earn your fear...
To start, this build is a rough guide to a build for a Soldier.
Hopefully this guide will help you decide on a character type for NARose.
----===----===----===----===----===----===----===----===----
Levels 1-14
----===----===----===----===----===----===----===----
Only put points into Strength when you level.
Priorities for weapons; Wooden Sword < Short Sword < Bamboo Spear < Headong
From levels 1-7 do not buy anything, do not sell anything. For fruit go to the old man near the mayor. He will give you everything you need to survive.
Fruit behaves differently in this version of Rose. The fruit (and juice) has a very long cool down time before you can reuse them. The heal alot more HP/MP than before as well. You should not have to buy any fruit at least untill later in the game around 2x.
At level 7 buy your full set of armor and if you don't already have a bamboo spear, buy one. You can get those from the NPC near sayon, Ronk.
Kill jelly beans, mini-jelly beans, and jelly nuts untill you get the quest for choropies. Kill all your choropies. Get your quest XP and reward (automatic, you don't have to cash in the quests nessesarily like other Rose's). Move onto Flanae and Choropies. Then around lvl 9 or 10 go to valley of luxem. Kill pumkins and wasps tell 10.
At level 10 go speak to Warren in Zant (jant?), NW corner of Adventure plains to NW corner of Valley of Luxem Tower. Get your job quest.
Complete your job quest. (I shouldn't have to explain that, since the english in the game is very good at this point). Do not learn your skills from the books in your inventory, do not increase your skills. It will waste your zuly at first.
Before Level 14, reset your stats by talking to the NPC next to warren in zant. Also if you have the zuly, reset your skills.
This build will work like this.
----===----===----===----===----===----===----===----
STATS
----===----===----===----===----===----===----===----
Strength is top priority.
Sense is second on priority.
Concentration is teritary on priority.
And with the points aloted during game play and leveling;
Str : Sen : Con
2 : 1.5 : (.9)
Until Level 55
Then convert your stat points into;
Str : Con
2 : (.9)
Level 20:
Str : 57
Sen : 30
Level 30:
Str : 79
Con : 20
Sen : 30
And so on. Tell;
Level 55:
Str : 120
Con : 46
Sen : 50 <---Leave Sen at 50
Level 65:
Str : 139
Con : 55 <---Leave Con at (Level-10)
Sen : 50
So at level 100;
Str : 203
Con : 90
Sen : 50

SKILLS
----===----===----===----===----===----===----===----
The goal of this build is to create a character that will end fights quickly.
Every 4 levels after 10 you will get a steadily increasing amount of Skill Points (SP). Intervals of when you get SP (skill points) 10, 14, 18, 22, 26, 30, 34, 38, 42, 46, 50, 54, 58, 62, 66, 70, and so on. Every 4 levels starting at 10. At level 10 you get 2 skill points. When you get your job, you also get 2 free skill points in the form of free skills with levels. When you reset your skills you get those points back, and loose all your skills. This costs 1000z to do. And you can do it at any time. Each skill costs zuly to increase; 100 times the prerequisit level of your character for that level of the passive skill. 200 times the prerequisit level of character required for active skill.
example; your character needs to be level 12 to learn level 2 of bludgen mastery. Level 2 of bludgen mastery costs 1200 zuly to increase and 1 skill point (SP). level 3 requires that your character is level 14, and thus costs 1400 zuly to increase, and again 1 sp. And Focused impact requires Level 12 to get level 2, and costs 2400 z to raise.
Your skills are very important. Do not get unnessary skills, that later require skill resets later. It is very expensive, and keeps getting more and more expensive as you progress in levels.
----===----===----===----
Active Skills;
----===----===----===----
Focused Impact should be maxed as soon as possible. Do not bother with any other active single attack skill. Unless swarmed. This will conserve your MP, so you do not have to use Juice, when you may need to use Fruit. You can only use a fruit or a juice. Not both at the same time. Lightning crasher has a prerequisit of level 10 Focused (crushing) impact.
Warcry is a very nice skill to get after you max out focused impact. This increases your attack power by % points every level you get in it. 2% per level of Warcry. Warcry lasts 1200 seconds, or 20mins. It affects a group, and you do not have to target to use it. This is a very handy skill if you plan on grouping. It also is just very nice to have a straight attack buff, with no negative affects. You can double buff yourself, and after you get level 5, triple buff yourself. If you have AP 10 gear, (attack power) and you buff yourself, you will get a higher value of added bonus. The 2nd job attack power buff requires level 10 warcry.
(AoE; Area of Effect)
Tremor Impact is a AoE attack that you can get at level 40. It has decent damage, but a 6m range. Significantly more damage than Piercing Howl. Uses ALOT of mp each use, and has a slow cool down time.
Piercing Howl is a AoE attack that you can get at level 30 (this skill is very usefull, it does damage in 8m radius, and has 100% chance to reduce def and dod on all within 8m radius. It is a good skill.) Uses 10mp at first, and at level 6 uses 15mp. Level 10 reduces Def and Dodge down 20%. 2nd job Howl of Pluto is an advanced form of this skill.
Double attack, it is a waste of MP, time, and Skill Points. Do not bother with this skill. In the time it takes to use, you will do the same amount of damage with your attacks.
Beserk. Do not get this skill. This will increase your attack power by 10% at level 1. And decrease your dodge rate by 10%. It only lasts 12 or 15 seconds. It is a waste of SP and zuly. 2% attack bonus per +lvl of this skill, 2-4% dod rate loss per additional level.
Leap attack. Buy this skill at your own risk. Is usefull if you have lower powered equipment, but it is MP costly, and the cool down is slow. The affect is similiar to a mid level crit x3, and slows the a-spd and m-spd of the single target. Not all together usefull when you can crit for that much and get another attack at the same time and not use MP that could be used for Focused Impact...
Absorbative Assault is a nice skill. But it consumes more mp than any other skill for soldier pre 2nd job. It does 600 weapon damage (level 10 Focused impact does that), and goes up 100 weapon damage per level of skill. You can max this at level 60 to do a huge 1000 weapon damage. This skills is great for kings. It also does stun for 4 seconds. It requires level 3 physical training passive to acquire. Maxed it consumes 120 MP.
----===----===----===----
Passive Skills;
----===----===----===----
Bludgen Mastery. Get this as fast as you can. This adds a straight value to your attack power for all your Strength based weapons (not duals). Max this skill out. Warcry also stacks with it's effect.
Defense mastery. Increase's your defence value by 1-2% per level of the skill. This is very usefull and I recommend that you max this skill out after bludgen mastery.
Physical training. This skill is usefull, it increase's your HP max by 1-2% per level (starting at 6%) permanently. Only get this to level 3, and keep it their, unless you extra SP. At level 3 you get a 9% bonus to HP, at level 10 you only get a total of 20% bonus to HP. 7SP for 11% bonus to HP. Not worth it IMO.
Spiritual Trainig. Only usefull at later levels, gives % bonus to MP. Exactally like Physical Training. You will only have 250mp Base at level 47. So 6% of 250 is 15... you get very little extra mp at first. Do not buy this skill untll later, around level 66 or 70.
Quick Step. I do not recommend this skill. But if you feel you are too slow, buy this skll. It is a % increase to your m-spd not unlike most skills now, at lvl 10 it is 20% increase in m-spd.
Metabolic High. If you require a M-spd increase get this skill instead of quick step. Increases HP recovery, and M-spd. Very usefull. 1% increase in m-spd per level, 2 hp recovery per level.

General Leveling Guide
----===----===----===----===----===----===----===----
Levels 1-9 Adventure Plain: Everything
Levels 9-15 Valley of Luxem Tower: Everything
Levels 15-22 Hill of Wind; Beatles and Daplings
Levels 22-33 El Veroon Desert; Aqua King Spawn, Aquas.
Levels 33-42 Lake Anime; Turtles, Aquas.
Levels 42-50 B1 of Goblin Cave and Forest of Wisdom; Grunter King Spawns.
Levels 51-55 Beach of Kenji: Doonga and Elder Doonga. Forest of Wisdom: Grunter King.
Levels 56-60 Beach of Kenji Elder Doonga, Doonga Leader, Doonga Warrior, and Doonga Fighters. Junon Golems.
Levels 61-65 Beach of Kenji: Crafi, and Crafi Warriors. Doongaliath. Krafi King (in group). Doonga Captains and Leaders in Gorge.
Levels 66-70 Crafi, Crafi Warriors, and Crafi Captains. Doongaliath. Krafi King. Doonga Captains and Leaders in Gorge.
Levels 71-75 Luna: Wolves, Slags and Elder Slags. Gorge: Doonga Captains, Leaders. Master Stone Golems, Grand Master Golems, Worm Dragon
And onward and outward. Try to kill Yellow named creatures, but you should be able to take on orange named creatures if you are well equiped. If you are feeling underpowered and are at a hard place to level at (40 was hard on me) kill green named creatures for a level and try the yellows out again.
You should do very well in a group. But do not try to tank. That is for Knights and Hawkers. Mostly knights are the group tanks. Your job is to hit things hard, and as often as possible. AoE if your are swarmed by 3 or more creatures. And only use Tremor Impact if you are swarmed and you just used Piercing Shout/wail.
----===----===----===----===----===----===----===----
General equipment overview;
----===----===----===----===----===----===----===----
Use blue named spears only; You should stick to weapons with a higher attack speed, than attack power. You will get more strikes in, and thus increase the likelyhood of criticals. A dark cutter edge (a-spd +3 and attack speed +8 and Str +5) has lasted me from level 35 tell 50. Saint Iron Spear is then your prime concern to get.
Your gear should have critical as a prime bonus. ALL DEMON GEAR. With maybe Dark splashed in for more a-spd. Some gear has critical 15 bonus's and critical bonus 6 or more. so total of +21 critical bonus.
Your Prime concern is aquiring critical stat, attack spead, and attack power. Mostly in that order. But do not let your attack power stay behind. It is crucial to have the base value high for your criticals to expound upon.
----===----===----===----===----===----===----===----
Criticals
----===----===----===----===----===----===----===----
The way that criticals work is simple; when you make an attack, the game checks your critical stat, and decides if you do a critical. Now in NARose, it does this before it checks to see if you hit or not. If the hit is a critical. depending on how much critical stat you have, you will do two times, three times, upwards to five or six times your normal damage on the target. This is as much damage alot of the time as your focused impact skill.
Skills take too long to use, and the time inbetween use's you could do two or more strikes. With a very high likelyhood of a critical.
Later in the game, you will relize that having your critical stat at 125+ will cause the greatest flux of criticals. I've had a critical of 175, and the difference from 125 was very minor.
Having a critical of 125 will give you a 33-50% critcal chance against Yellow named mobs. This does not garuntee that you will critical every 3rd hit. It means that your strike has a 33% and upwards chance of doing a critical. You can go a few strikes in a row, even 10 times before getting a critical agian. And yet you can get 5 or 6 critcals in a row as well.
