AoE Knight
Stats, skills, and more for AoE Knights
Author: RyuDude
Class: soldier Job: knight
Type: general Difficulty: all
Average rating: 0/10 Total Votes: 0

-Guide-
Knights are the most defensive characters in the game.
Most characters try to have as much damage as possible, to finish the enemy ASAP, but as an AoE Knight you should use more defensive techniques.
AoE Knights are the Knights that take advantage of their extreme defensive power, along with their AoE skills, to fight the enemys, and all of them together.
Sounds nice, right? *Inspired*
I do not pay attention to crossbows (almost none) at this guide. Not skills, not things nto err.. almost nothing. They are a whole different characters, only because they are Knights doesn't mean that they are AoE users.

Stats:

AoE Knight should have CON = Level, the rest in STR. Nothing in SEN or anything else is needed. When you start your character, level the CON to 20, and then all to STR. When you are level 21, start putting one in CON each level and the rest in STR. That's it.

Skills, 2nd Job Quest:

Note that some skills are not explained in the Arua WIKI well.
There is no such skill as "Holy Blood" in there. Untrue. Shaming. I know.

Passive:

Starting as plain Soldiers, you should have:

Weapon Mastery: MAX
Harden Body: MAX
Armor Mastery: MAX
Mental Mastery: MAX
Quick Step: Optional.

Active:
Heavy Attack: MAX
Leap Attack: MAX
Blood Attack: Level 5
Shield Barrier: MAX when you are higher level, and start fighting powerful magical enemys.
Endure: MAX

Since you have to max so many skills, that aren't cheap in SP, I recommend you not to invest in other skills, ISPECIALLY not in Berserk, that decreases defense, or Spin Attack, which requires two-handed weapons to use.

2nd Job Quest:
Talk to Mayor Derren in the middle of Junon Police.
Talk to Crune, the weapon merchant with the huge purple hat.
Go hunt Krawfy Kings, you may want to use a crossbow to gain first hit on them.
Also, beware of Junon's Krawfy, they are very powerful, and rare at that.
Go back to Crune, talk for some time...
Go to Zant, talk to the guy who sells Soldier/Hawker skills.
Go to the goblin cave (B2) and hunt Goblin Warriors - they should quest drop you five pieces of the sword of the mighty and first king of Akram - err.. I forgot his name.
Go back to that guy who sells Soldier/Hawker Skills.
Go to Breezy Hills (Go to Luxem Tower valley from Zant, and turn left to the portal at the north), and talk to one of the smiths in the small village. He is the farthest from the village's entrance.
Go to the Gorge of Silence, and hunt a few Stone Golems until they drop the Token of Friendship (quest drop).
Go back to the smith in Breezy Hills.
Go to err.. I think John the historian of Junon Police. He is by the lighthouse, which is located down the road from the guy who you talk to to use the passenger ship.
Go back to Mayor Derren, pay him 200,000 Zuly, and you're a Knight (or a Champion)!

Knight Skills:

Passive:

Armor Mastery: MAX (Highest level 20 now)
Harden Body: MAX (Highest level 20 now)
One-Hand Mastery: MAX

Active:
Impact Wave: MAX (Need Leap Attack level 10, AoE)
Holy Blood: MAX (Need Blood Attack level 5, Mental Mastery Level 10, AoE, uses HP)
Lightning Crasher: MAX, but after the AoE skills.
Divine Lightning: If you wish, afterwards, for Zombie Invasions and stuff.. It's not very useful otherwise, not worth the SP for sure.

Skills Notes:
Double/Triple attack is about three times better than Heavy Attack, you may want to get it later on.
-Don't take Berserk. I mean it, dude.
-Holy Blood uses HP instead of MP, so note that.
-Impact Wave costs TONS of SP to max, so it will take some time.
-Spin Attack requiresa two-handed weapon. It's a secondary AoE skill the only Champs can max out. What a shame -.-

Gameplay and Gear:

As an AoE Knight, you must have a shield to give you good defense, along with good armor (or one of those casual suits with HP for lower levels).
Helmet, gloves, shoes, for extra defense (MORE DEFENSEZ MUAHWAHAH).
Try and get a good backshield when you start having a hard time leveling, if you can't find one don't buy wings instead. If you already have wings, you should use them until you find a good backshield, but don't delay it. Get defense.
Mask - Masks can't give you a good defense bonus, get as much STR as you can.
Appraised items should have either defense and HP or just STR.
Ontop of all of the above, you need a powerful one-handed sword to be your weapon.

Gems: Get Rubys. Pink Opal does add Magic/Defense, but it's SO low! I got a Pink Opal (2) today for 149K, just for the Devotion Quest... Rubys.

Gameplay:

You may want to use two-handed weapons until you are a Knight. That is not a problem at all, in fact, you should do it. You have enough HP to fight 1v1 with monsters, why not be stronger? When you are a Knight, though, you must have a one-handed weapon and a shield.

At your lower levels as a Knight, you should train at Goblin Cave. The monsters are all dense in small rooms, so easy to AoE it's unbelievable. They can still kill you though.. I think that at this point you should use 1K HP potions, as well as having a few instant-healers on a secondary tab for an emergency (The health vials, which are said to recover your HP at a high rate, heal you instantly).
Beyond that, explore. Go wherever you want. But do it with a car, you are freaking slow.
You really shouldn't go to Luna when getting close to level 100, the monsters are spread across the snow, there are probably better places. You can even continue training at the Goblin Cave B3, even though it will be slow.
---Unless you are going to the Hidden Temple. Better, much better, and you can get rewards. But take a lot of pots, seriously a lot.

Tips

Don't start an AoE Knight without money at all. It doesn't require a lot of money as well, however, so you can start after you make some money with a main character.

Don't 1v1 (monsters). You are not very strong with that(...). The power comes from the AoE Skills, but they are slow and not good in 1v1. Collect some monsters, be patient, use your huge range Holy Blood to get everybody's attention to you. You should also have low charm so that monsters will be more attracted to you.
...At the beginning.. later you are strong at that too, but you should never do it because you should take advantage of your AoE skills as soon as enemys spawn.

Dueling other characters is cool because you have tons of HP and extreme defense. Even if stunned, you will probably survive. Knight's Lightning Crasher has around 50% to stun at level 1. WOW! Still, don't fight people who are a lot higher level than you.

Conclusion:

I have an AoE Knight, she owns. She has 15 charm. She owns.
She owns hard, it's almost depressing.
The only thing I can imagine that AoE Knights are not very good at is the ability to run away.. or run at all. They are soooo slow.. you just have to get a car+skill for yourself, otherwise your AoE Knight will make you quit the game.
But they own... Alone, at party as well. See, the great thing about AoE Knights is that they can take care of themselves always, because no enemy attack penetrates your ownin' armor. You will, eventually, beat them up, but it may cost you, time, currency..
Currency = Time.

QnA (Will probably update):

Q: Champion or Knight?

A: Champions are better at 1v1, they give a lot of damage to one target. If that's what you like... No problem. All the classes are importnant, I like Knights better, and AoE Knights better.

Q: Why shouldn't I have SEN?

A: You will mostly use skills that don't crit (I saw a few specific skills that do crit, I am 100% sure even if everyone say that skills never crit)(Knight skills don't crit).

Q: Should I get Holy Blood or Impact Wave first?

A: You must get both of them as soon as you become a Knight. You don't have, and you shouldn't, max them or one of them at that time. Get them both to level 3~4, but you need the Passives more in the beginning because you should go to Gob Cave B2/B3 for enemys, which spawn like pelets from a bullet from a pump-action shotgun (The stronger, slower ones).

Q: Why did you make this guide?

A: I have some serious sleeping problems, man..

"Q": I am a girl, stop saying "man", "dude".

A: I think of "man" as a short for "Human", and not as a meaning for "guy". I don't care of the reality, okay?!

That's it for now, I hope I helped players at understanding the being of an AoE Knight, there are so few these days. Cannons everywhere. Good Luck!
